Small Serial Thermal Printer

Post by victorf »

I am looking for a small serial thermal printer for my current application. This printer would use standard thermal printer paper (4 inch) that can be purchased at someplace like Office Depot. I need to print perhaps 30 characters per line. Speeds could range from 2400 to 9600 baud. It would be driven from a ZX-24. Cost is a consideration. Any suggestions?

I purchased a SiPix Pocket Printer A6 once, hoping it would do the trick, but I was never able to get it to work as it's print speed was something like 115,000 baud. It was designed to be a screen printer for windows and it did that job nicely though.

Any enlightenment will be appreciated.

You might check out the Eltron Zebra printers. There are several different models that can be found in new/used/reconditioned condition on eBay for $30 and up depending on the model. These are the type of printers that are commonly used for printing UPS shipping labels.
