Where did you find a detailed footprint for these modules? And how do you tell which are E, F, Q, etc.? There do not seem to be any obvious identifying labels.dkinzer wrote:I've attached some photos of a prototype of a carrier board for the ESP-12E and ESP-12Q with which I've been experimenting.

Re: WIFIO DOA?
I couldn't find specifications and settled for measurements. The pins are on 2mm centers in rows 14mm apart. The half-holes on the end are on a line 2mm from the closest side pin and centered between the rows (thereby being on a 2mm grid).dlh wrote:Where did you find a detailed footprint for these modules?
I don't know if there are distinguishing markings. The fundamental difference is the size of the Flash chip. I don't have an F on hand so I can't tell you for certain that the pin layout matches the others but I would be surprised to discover otherwise.dlh wrote:And how do you tell which are E, F, Q, etc.?.

I found them with adapter boards on EBay.dkinzer wrote:I couldn't find specifications and settled for measurements.

And, bare adapter boards.

And, it looks like Espressif sent the ESP32 beta boards in a breadboard friendly format. Here's hoping the final version is equally easy to work with. Maybe they'll be at CES.
