While waiting for Don to port ZBasic to the Pi Zero , there's the tinyBasic interpreter and Xojo (formerly REALBasic) that should run on the Zero. I haven't used it in years but REALBasic was a serious structured cross platform development language.

The $5 Pi Zero + $2 ESP8266 hardware make an attractive and inexpensive WiFi-enabled thing for IoT.
