ZBasic Compiler V3.3 Now Available

Post by dkinzer »

There is a new installer available on the Downloads Page for the latest release of the ZBasic compiler, IDE, ZX Library and documentation. See the summary of changes for the compiler for more information. Note that the v3.3 ZBasic Library (included in the updated installer) is required for the new compiler release.

The new installer is smaller than recent releases because a single version of the back-end compiler (WinAVR) is being used for all native mode devices. The ZBasic Library (formerly known as the ZX Library) has been redesigned to use a single main library file (in most cases) for all ZX devices based on a given AVR microcontroller. In addition, there is now a single-task library and a multi-task library for each base processor. This allows the creation of smaller applications than was previously possible when the application comprises a single task.
