Just tried out my first ZX-24. Its installed in a known good BX-24 controller board. Bx-24 loads and verifies just fine but the following message appears when I try to download the same code, that complied on the ZX IDE correctly, into the ZX-24.

Downloading file "C:\PFiX Controls Documents\ZBasic Projects\test.zxb":
.........................................................................................
Download complete.
Verifying download:
..
Verification error, record 1.
Download verification failed.
ZBasic v1.1.2

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Additional info: I did try a simple Debug.Print "Hello world" program and that also failed to verify.

Download verification failed.
This is an indication of either an incorrect connection or a defective device. Since you're using it in a known-good development board, that leaves the latter.

Although the devices are tested after assembly to verify their operation it It is possible for a component to fail causing the problem that you see.

Send an email to support@zbasic.net and we'll get it replaced as soon as possible.

First of all double check your connections. Do you see a startup message from the ZBasic runtime on the console.

Another thing to try is to verify the ATN line. See chapter 7 and the -a flag on the ZLoad utility.

It's still not working...

did you actually try to find it in the manual. The URL you need is http://www.zbasic.net/doc/ZBasicRef/ZBasicRef91.html.

Just think if you had a portable ZX you could try this out even though you are on the road in Las Vegas.
