SPI at 3.3v

SPI at 3.3v

Post by sturgessb »

Hello all

I'm getting nothing back other than 255 when querying a SPI sensor (mpu6000), via hardware SPI on a zx24n, and just wondering if running the zx at 3.3v would cause any issues with SPI coms?

Normally everything is fine at 3.3v, but perhaps SPI is different for some reason?

That supply voltage is too low for a ZX running at 14.7MHz. In such a case, the device may behave in any manner it sees fit.

You're best advised to use a ZX running at 7.37MHz *or* run the ZX at 5V and use level converters on the SPI signals.
