zx-328n failures please help

Discussion specific to the DIP and TQFP packaged ZX devices like the ZX-40, ZX-44, ZX-32 and ZX-328 series. The differences between these devices is primarily the packaging and pinout so most issues will apply to all devices.

zx-328n failures please help

Post by rdrive »

I have gotten more than 10 zx-328 and for some reason i'll be programing and everything is fine then next time I try to program I get no response or the chip will be putting out garbage. I have 7 bad zx-328's and every one of them have a different communications error. Is there any way to fix these or do I have to eat it. I have checked everything. My boards wiring is ok since I had them made at pcexpress. I turn it on and sometime it's bad so I replace it and then it's fine. I need to order some more but I don't want to waste my money please help.

We'd be happy to re-flash them and verify that they are operating properly. Before doing so, we can see if we can determine the cause of the problem.

Just send them back to the address on the Contact Us page.

How is the serial interface implemented ,
ST/MAX232 chip or transistor method ?
Any DC/DC converters in the design ?
What's the ATN circuit like ?

From what I can see on the ZBasic.net web site, the zx-328n is just a chip.  You have to connect whatever external circuitry that is needed yourself. You can use the method of your choice for the serial interface.
