New IDE supports RTS downloading

Post by dkinzer »

A new version of the ZBasic IDE is available on the Downloads page that supports using RTS rather than DTR as the ATN signal. This useful because some serial adapters (e.g. USB serial) provide the RTS signal but do not provide the DTR signal.

The attached image shows the modified Serial Port Options dialog. In the lower right groupbox there is a pair of radio buttons for selecting DTR (the default) or RTS as the ATN signal.

At present, the updated v1.7.1 IDE is only available as a separate download but it will be incorporated in the next installer release. After downloading the updated IDE .zip file, extract the contents to the IDE subdirectory of the ZBasic installation directory, preserving file paths.
