Firmware Update Disaster

Post by shrimpy »

Hey,
I just had the ultimate chip killing mishap...
While I was updating the VM firmware to the latest version, my computer decided it would be a good time to crash and left me with a unresponsive chip.
I've tried using the emergency update protocol but nothing seems to work. I'm willing to accept that this is probably the end of this particular ZX-24a but if you guys have any ideas...,
Thanks,
Nathaniel

We'll send you a new one in exchange for that one if nothing else works.

If you don't have the latest ZBasic compiler installed, I would suggest downloading it, installing it and then trying the emergency update again using the zload utility.

I just tried using the zload utility through the command:

Code: Select all

zload -c1 -e zx24a_3-2-0.zvm
But unfortunately I still get the response "device failed to respond".
If you guys can salvage it I'll send it back to you... seems to be the best option,
