Trying to instal v3.3

Post by jburrow »

I have downloaded and executed zbasic-setup_3-3-0.exe several times.

My download programs still show ZBasic 3.0.4, despite having compiled/downloaded several times.

I have also removed and reinstalled ZBasic. And of course, several reboots for good measure.

Suggestions, please.

Thanks, John Burrow

The version number displayed by a downloaded program depends on the type of ZX it is.
  • For native mode devices, it is the ZBasic Library version number. An updated ZBasic Library (v3.3.0) was included in the new installer.
  • For VM mode devices, the reported version number is the VM version number. The VM does not get updated unless you purposely invoke the firmware update procedure to write a separately available VM update (file extension .zvm) to the device.
Which ZX device are you using?

That is a VM mode device so the version number you're seeing is that of the VM. It wouldn't have changed merely by installing the v3.3.0 compiler.
