1 LiPo for All OK?

Discussion specific to the DIP and TQFP packaged ZX devices like the ZX-40, ZX-44, ZX-32 and ZX-328 series. The differences between these devices is primarily the packaging and pinout so most issues will apply to all devices.

1 LiPo for All OK?

Post by liam.zbasic »

I'm finishing a high powered ground bot with RS-545 motors from banebots (motor stall current is 21A). Is it safe to use my 11.1V Li-Po battery to power both the motor driver and Zx-40n device? Since the circuits are NOT in series, I'm assuming the ZX breadboard will not "see" current spikes drawn by the motors. I'm being extra careful because I've fried wires in the past and Li-Po's need extra attention because the electrolyte is flammable. Appreciate your comments.

Personally i would run the zx from a different battery as for sure the voltage will fluctuate as the load and charge state of the batteries vary.

Power supply issues can be difficult to diagnose and replicate and its usually pretty easy to incoporate a separate lipo at design stage rather than trying to retro fit one later.
