Schematic Capture, PCB Layout, 3D Simulation Freeware

Post by dlh »

DesignSpark is a full featured, well supported, freeware PCB design application. I came across it while looking for something that can import Eagle files (which it does).

It's from RS Components Ltd which is a worldwide supplier of electronic components. One of its features is it can generate BOMs with their PNs - that's why it's freeware. It also interfaces with a few freeware SPICE simulators. It's hard to beat at any price.

Thanks for posting this link. I really need this one. It is very convenient application that you can import Eagle files.

I had some problems when I tried to import an Eagle file. It added about 50 superfluous vias at inflection points in the traces - shorting many traces together. YMMV.

I did, however, manage to create my design in Sprint Layout (which is superb) using the Design Spark layout as a guide.
