Short circuit detector

Post by pcleats »

Does anybody have a simple short circuit detector. My distribution box has 8 seperate power connectors, and if one of power connectors gets shorted out or something happens to the power wire I would like a way to disable that power connector without killing the power to the other items connected to the box.

Thanks

I found just the circuit I was looking for.

Maxim ics has a very cool chip that will allow you to monitor both the voltage and the current.

It sounds like a USB power switch might be ideal:
